The current backup may take a little while to run since it exports the database schema and data. Will this slow the upgrade too much?.

What do we do if it fails?. Maybe we stick with the existing snapshot that is taken of the data directory and leave it at that?

Well we need to do something since this current snapshot does not backup the record store or plugins etc etc.
