The commentWindow div is there, and the appropriate content added to it, but it seems to be hiding somewhere on the page.

In fact, the popups work when the central part of our layout fits within the space allocated to it. When it doesn not fit, however, and gets scrollbars, the popups do not appear near where they are expected.
